Cherie Blair

Cherie Blair, KC (née Booth, born 1954), is a British barrister and writer, and the wife of former Prime Minister Tony Blair. She is a founding member of Matrix Chambers, founder and chair of the law firm Omnia Strategy LLP, and founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which supports women entrepreneurs in developing countries. She has not been charged with any crime in connection with Jeffrey Epstein, and has not been accused of wrongdoing.

The documented basis for Blair’s appearance in the Epstein-related material is limited and described primarily by Blair herself. Speaking to Times Radio in an interview reported on 14 March 2026, she addressed why her name had “cropped up” in the files, saying it “might have been…because I happened to be at a women’s event and his girlfriend was there, and he then recounts this,” according to GB News. In the same interview, reported by The Independent, she characterized Epstein as someone “always ‘trying to show how influential I am because I know all of these people.’” The Independent and GB News both attribute these remarks to the same Times Radio appearance.

In that interview, Blair also commented on others connected to the case. She defended the Labour peer Peter Mandelson, a longtime family associate, telling his critics that “when anyone’s life falls apart, we should remember that there’s still a human being” and that “they’re entitled to a fair trial,” per GB News and The Independent. Asked about her husband, she said Tony Blair had not been “drawn” into the controversy, stating that “the prime minister meets millions of people all the time” and that “I think it was Bill Clinton who asked him to meet Epstein,” as reported by The Independent.

Is Cherie Blair in the Epstein files?

The verified record is thin. Cherie Blair does not appear among the individuals named in the Epstein files. The clearest documented connection comes from Blair’s own March 2026 Times Radio interview — reported by both The Independent and GB News — in which she said her name had surfaced because she once attended a women’s event also attended by Epstein’s girlfriend, and that Epstein subsequently “recounted” the encounter. On the public record reviewed here, Blair has not been charged with or accused of any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein, and the basis for her name appearing is, by her own account, an incidental social overlap.
