Josh Harris is an American investor and sports-team owner. He co-founded the private equity firm Apollo Global Management in 1990 alongside Leon Black and Marc Rowan, and he is the managing partner of the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), the New Jersey Devils (NHL) and the Washington Commanders (NFL).
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, emails released in January 2026 show that Harris exchanged multiple emails and phone calls with Jeffrey Epstein between 2013 and 2016. The Inquirer reported that schedulers coordinated a planned October 2013 breakfast at Epstein’s Manhattan home involving Harris, Leon Black and Marc Rowan, though it is unclear whether that meeting occurred, and that Harris attended a breakfast at Epstein’s home in 2014 also attended by Bill Gates, investor Reid Hoffman and Ron Baron. The Inquirer quoted an email in which Harris told Epstein, “Yes very much. Thank you for inviting me,” and an email in which Epstein later told a Bank of America executive that he had recently had breakfast “with ron baron. josh harris, and billgates.” Front Office Sports similarly reported that Harris “mostly dodged” invitations but attended at least one breakfast meeting in 2014.
In response to the document release, a spokesperson for Harris, Jonathan Rosen, said in a statement quoted by The Philadelphia Inquirer and Front Office Sports that “Josh Harris never had an independent relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” that “Harris sought to prevent Epstein’s attempts to develop a corporate relationship with Apollo,” and that “as these emails indicate, Harris sought to avoid meeting with Epstein, canceling meetings and having others return his calls.” The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the emails “do not contain any indication that Harris was involved with sexual misconduct.”
